Project Lead: Stephen J. Hanson, Ph.D.Co-PIs: Catherine Hanson and Paul Kanto
Grant Title: Proposal for Cognitive Neuroscience/Dynamic Brain Imaging and Archive
Program Area: Bridging Brain, Mind & Behavior
Grant Type: Collaborative Activity Award
Year Awarded: 2002
Project Summary:
The Rutgers University Mind Brain Analysis (RUMBA) team plans to develop approaches for acquiring functional brain imaging data from subjects engaged in cognitive tasks specifically designed to reveal dynamic interactions among brain regions. The RUMBA team plans to develop algorithms for integrating the spatial information obtained from Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) with the temporal data obtained from EEG. The RUMBA group also plans to devote a significant portion of its efforts to the development of analytical tools for characterizing a number of ecologically valid cognitive tasks for use in brain imaging studies of dynamic brain processes.
